Five & Dime
(just circular)
December 29, 2006
Paul Bodamer
Some poetic license on meeting my wife. Five and Dime sounded better than in the basement at a band party.
Popped out of bed early on a Saturday
Nothing to do but I went out anyway
Saw you shopping at the five and dime
And I knew you had to be mine
I felt just like a little kid
Didn’t want to speak, but I did
You gave me an amazing smile
And I followed you right down the aisle
Coffee shops and clubs were where I looked
But at the five and dime, I was hooked
Poetry in motion when you walked
The girl of my dreams when you talked
I had no idea I’d ever find you
No where left to go, Nothin’ left to do
Nowhere left to search, I found you
Now after all these years
The time has been good to you
You still take away all my fears
And I am so in love with you
You still make me feel brand new
Just like on the day I met you
At the five and dime (x6)
